James LoCascio was born and raised in New Orleans Louisiana. He started shooting at the age of fourteen when he received his first 35mm camera. He studied at NOCA, New Orleans Center of Creative Arts in high school. He then went on and studied Art/Drama/Communications at University of New Orleans. In 1987 he moved to New York on scholarship to attend a Dramatic Arts School. In 1990 he moved back to New Orleans where he resumed his love of photography. He's also worked as an actor on stage, film and TV. James feels that knowing both sides of the camera gives him an edge when shooting. Having that edge he’s able to communicate with the client in their own words exactly what they are looking for. He's attended many photography workshops in Los Angeles. In 2006 James' travels took him from the north to the south of Vietnam with Julia Dean's Photography Travel Workshops. He’s also traveled to Cambodia, Siem Reap to shoot Angkor Wat and traveled to remote parts of that country as well.
