James Locascio was born and raised in New Orleans. He started shooting at the age of fourteen when he received his first 35mm camera. He studied drama/communications at University of New Orleans. In 1987 he moved to New York on scholarship to attend a drama/musical theater school. In 1990 he moved back to New Orleans and resumed acting and photography. He's worked on stage and in front of the camera for years. Early in 2006 he traveled to Vietnam and Cambodia to remote parts of each country. That work can be viewed on his website.

James is currently working for Push Creative in Los Angeles a creative media production company where he is an Asst. Producer for print production and is activly pursuing photography.
